Leafy and private, this is definitely one for the romantics. Choose between a self-con-
tained cabin with fireplace and spa, or one of three luxurious B&B rooms with private
verandahs and exquisite mountain views. There's a two-night minimum stay on week-
ends; breakfast is included.

Eating
Maple St is chockas with cafes, restaurants and cute little eating/drinking nooks. Almost
everything everywhere will be organic, sustainable and sensitive to allergy and ethical
concerns.
Up Front Club

the bucketful into Maleny's main strip, with organic breads, dahl, tofu and even something
for the carnivores. Live music on the weekends includes reggae, folk and spontaneous
jam-a-thons.

Monica's Cafe
(11/43 Maple St; mains $8.50-20; 7am-4pm Mon-Fri, 7.30am-2am Sat & Sun) Ever-changing blackboard
specials boast hearty dishes and innovative salads. Sit outside to rubberneck at the fascin-
ating parade, take a seat indoors at the long wooden table or clomp upstairs to the more
private mezzanine.

Sweets on Maple
(39 Maple St; home-made fudge 100g from $5; 9.30am-4.30pm Mon-Fri, 10am-3.30pm Sat & Sun) There are a
lot of ye olde lolly shops in this neck of the woods, but Sweets on Maple licks them all.
The old-fashioned sweets parlour lures in passer-bys with the crazy-making smell of
fresh-baking fudge, and keeps them there with flavours including chocolate chilli and
Frangelico with lime. Divine.
