cuisine: from five-dish menus for two or three people to one-plate meals, the flavour com-
binations are divine. If you're baffled by the choice try snacking on a selection of jÄ…aou
used as dipping sauces for balls of sticky rice.

Getting There & Away
AIR
Lao Airlines ( 086-312180; www.laoairlines.com ) flies to Vientiane (895,000K) daily.
BUS
There are two bus stations. The district bus station is walking distance from the traveller
strip. The main long-distance bus station is 10km south of town.
For Nong Khiaw take a Vientiane or Luang Prabang bus and change at Pak Mong.
