Sydney Harbour National Park, near Grotto Point on the Manly Scenic Walkway.

Iconic Sydney architect Harry Seidler designed this modest 50-sq-metre house (1950) for his mother and father,
Rose and Max. Rose Seidler House ( 9989 8020; www.hht.nsw.gov.au ; 71 Clissold Rd; adult/child/family
$8/4/17; 10am-5pm Sun; 575) is a modernist gem, with free-flowing open spaces, retro colour schemes
and hip furnishings. Every year the Historic Houses Trust holds a Fifties Fair (usually in August) on the
grounds. The house is around 22km northwest of Manly and a fair hike from Wahroonga train station (approx-
imately 40 minutes; around 3km) − the bus gets closer but you're better off with your own wheels.

FRESHWATER
(Moore Rd; 139) This discreet sandy bay just north of Manly has a cool ocean pool and
plenty of teenagers. Good for learner surfers.

CURL CURL
(Carrington Pde; 139) Attracting a mix of family groups and experienced surfers, Curl Curl
is a larger beach north of Freshwater with rocky saltwater pools at each end, a swampy la-
goon and curly waves.
