NEILD AVENUE MAZE
OFFLINE MAP GOOGLE MAP
(Neild Ave; Kings Cross) This tiny maze of thigh-high hedges hides behind a gargantuan
plane tree on a Paddington back street, squished into a cranny between a gallery and
someone's back fence. It mightn't take you forever to find your way through, but it'll add
a smile to your day.
RUSHCUTTERS BAY
PARK

(New South Head Rd; Edgecliff) Surrounded by enormous Moreton Bay fig trees, luxury
yachts and pampered pooches, this unpretentious waterfront park is a beaut spot for a
quiet stroll or jog. In December the world's greatest yachties prepare for the gruelling
Sydney to Hobart race here. Rushcutters Bay Park Tennis Courts are also on hand.
JUNIPER HALL

(248 Oxford St; 380) Paddington's oldest home (1824), this restored Georgian mansion was
built by Robert Cooper with profits from his gin business (he named it after the essential
gin-making ingredient). It's owned by the National Trust but it's usually tenanted as a
commercial property.

QUEEN STREET
OFFLINE MAP GOOGLE MAP
(Queen St; 389) Despite its status as the premier antique-shopping strip in Australia (the
first shop opened in 1957), tree-lined Queen St retains a village vibe, with pricey
boutiques, delis, summer chestnuts hanging heavy on the bough and kids who say, 'Hey,
nice Ferrari!'. There was once a famous annual street fair here, until noise-phobic resid-
ents shut it down in the early 1980s.
