the British Empire (built 1841 to 1848), these Georgian buildings have been called the
finest of their kind in the colonies. Tours take in a flag-raising ceremony, a marching band
(weather permitting) and the paraphernalia-packed war museum. Good disabled access.

profit ACP exhibits the photographic gems of renowned Sydney and international photo-
graphers. It's particularly passionate about photomedia, video and digital-imaging works,
its displays extending into a multiexhibition space next door.
PARK
PADDINGTON RESERVOIR GARDENS

(cnr Oxford St & Oatley Rd; 380) Opened to much architectural acclaim in 2008, this impress-
ive park makes use of Paddington's long-abandoned 1866 water reservoir, incorporating
the brick arches and surviving chamber into an interesting green space featuring a sunken
garden, pond, boardwalk and lawns.
They've even preserved some of the graffiti dating from the many years when it was
boarded up and abandoned to feral cats and stealthy spray-can artists.

a cutting-edge commercial gallery, Sherman Galleries celebrated its coming-of-age by re-
opening as a not-for-profit gallery. The focus is on temporary exhibitions of work by influ-
ential and innovative artists from Australia, the Asia-Pacific region and the Middle East.
