Wed-Sat & Mon, 12.30-4pm Sun) 'We only serve proper Bolognese food here, none of that spa-
ghetti stuff', announces your loquacious but humorous waiter. You'd better believe him.
At Buca Manzoni the menu is printed in Bolognese dialect, the lasagne comes verde
(green), and those long stringy bits of pasta are called tagliatelle and are nothing - dare

( 051 22 25 29; www.drogheriadellarosa.it ; Via Cartoleria 10; meals €35-40; noon-3pm &
7.30-11.45pm) With its wooden shelves and apothecary jars, it's not difficult to picture this
place as the pharmacy it once was. Nowadays it's a charming, high-end trattoria, run by a
congenial owner who seems to find time to get round to every table and explain the day's
short, sweet menu.
Expect superbly prepared versions of Bolognese classics such as tortellini or steak with
balsamic vinegar.
