dashboard. Underground car parks charge between €25 and €40 for 24 hours.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
ATM ( 800 80 81 81; www.atm.it ) Runs the metro, buses and trams. The metro is the most
convenient way to get around and consists of three main lines and the blue Passante Fer-
roviario, which run from 6am and 12.30am, after which a night service runs to 2.30am. A
ticket costs €1.50 and is valid for one metro ride or up to 90 minutes' travel on ATM
buses and trams. Tickets are sold at metro stations, tobacconists and newspaper stands.
Tickets must be validated on trams and buses.
M1 (red) Connects Duomo, Corso Venezia, Castello Sforzesco and the Fiera.
M2 (green) Connects Porta Garibaldi, Brera and Navigli.
M3 (yellow) Connects the Quadrilatero d'Oro with Porta Romana.

are several good money-saving passes available for public transport:
One-day ticket Valid 24 hours, €4.50
Three-day ticket Valid 72 hours, €8.25
Carnet of 10 tickets Valid for 90 minutes each, €13.80
TAXI
Taxis are only available at designated taxi ranks; you cannot flag them down. Alternat-
ively, call 02 40 40, 02 69 69 or 02 85 85. The average short city ride costs €10.
Be aware that when you call for a cab, the meter runs from receipt of call, not pick up.
