( www.darwinairline.com ) goes to the Mediterranean island of Pantelleria. AST buses connect
the airport with downtown Trapani (€4.70, 45 minutes, hourly) and Marsala (€2.50, 45
minutes, four daily).
BOAT
Ferry ticket offices are inside Trapani's ferry terminal, opposite Piazza Garibaldi.
For Ustica Lines and Siremar hydrofoils, the ticket office and embarkation point is
150m further east along Via Ammiraglio Staiti.
Grimaldi Lines ( www.grimaldi-ferries.com ) runs weekly services to Tunisia (deck/cabin from
€60/85, 8½ hours) and Civitavecchia (€120, 14½ hours).
Tirrenia ( www.tirrenia.it ) runs a weekly service to Cagliari (deck/cabin from €40/160,
12 hours).
Ustica Lines ( Click here ) and Siremar ( Click here ) both operate hydrofoils year-round
to the Egadi Islands. Ustica Lines also offers summer-only Saturday morning services to
Ustica (€28, 2½ hours) and Naples (€94, seven hours), while Siremar and Traghetti delle
Isole ( www.traghettidelleisole.it ) offer nightly ferry service to Pantelleria (€34, six hours).
BUS
Intercity buses arrive and depart from the terminal 1km east of the centre (just southeast
of the train station).
Segesta ( 092 32 84 04; www.segesta.it ) runs express buses to Palermo (€9, two hours,
hourly). Board at the bus stop across the street from Egatours or at the bus station.
Lumia ( 092 32 17 54; www.autolineelumia.it ) buses serve Agrigento (€11.80, 2¾ to 3½
hours, one to three daily).
Two free city buses (No 1 and 2) operated by ATM ( 092 355 95 75; www.atmtrapani.it ) do
circular trips through Trapani, connecting the bus station, the train station and the port.
CAR & MOTORCYLE
To bypass Trapani's vast suburbs and avoid the narrow streets of the city centre, follow
signs from the A29 autostrada directly to the port, where you'll find abundant paid park-
ing along the broad waterside avenue Via Ammiraglio Staiti, within walking distance of
most attractions.
