people as the home of the popular BBC children's TV show
Balamory
. In real life it's
a thriving town with a lively atmosphere, great pubs and seafood cafes. Several whale-
watch boats depart from here in search of minke whales, dolphins and basking sharks.
If the weather is good, get your fish and chips from the van on the pier (like Prince
Charles did on a recent visit).
5 BEACHES
You can't come to Mull and Iona and not sample some of the beautiful white-sand
beaches. Iona has many to choose from; on your way, visit Ardalanish or Uisken on the
