menu acquired the same number of responses (20%). The users who chose the theme-
driven menu thought they could access all the required operations from the menu, and
the menu was more natural and user-friendly. Users preferring the role-driven menu
suggested it was closer to life. (See Figure 8.56.)

Results summary.
The majority of the respondents (70%) favored a concept-driven menu, mostly because
it conveyed the navigation structure most directly. The role-driven menu came second
(25%), because it was more personable and also compact. (See Figure 8.57.)
Discussion/conclusion.
The hypotheses were not supported by the results. The theme-driven and role-driven
menus did not have so much of a following, although the respondents liked them, and
found them very natural, because they came from life situations and spoken language.
The results were very similar in both of the interviewed groups.
