hipsters hang out on Main St, this chatty neighborhood joint lures every skinny-jeaned
local in its vicinity. They come for the excellent coffee (it's not just about looking cool
here) plus a small array of baked treats and some very tempting home coffee making
paraphernalia. Take a perch at the front window and watch Broadway bustle past.
A handy pit stop if you're walking between South Granville and Cambie, you won't
be the only one flicking through a copy of th e Georgia Straight and planning your
weekend here. In fact, there's a box just outside where you can pick up your free copy.

A welcoming and restorative respite from clamorous Broadway, this smashing locals'
favorite is ideal for visiting tea nuts. Choose from dozens of varieties from around the
world (the nutcracker oolong recommended) then sink into a coveted sofa seat at the
back of the store. Better still: go for the $6.75 pie and tea deal, which includes a bul-
ging housemade slice (the strawberry and rhubarb is the best).
It's just 75c to add ice-cream to your warmed pie choice, and most slices are vegan
and gluten-free. If you enjoy your brew, consider a takeout tin for the road.

very upset. A cute, two-floored cafe tucked into a restored heritage home, this is an
easy spot to spend a morning reading the papers and supping perfect java. Aim for the
single table on the tiny upstairs patio (there's a larger ground level area on the side of
the building).
