Village (the round-the-lake bus stops here). It has its own restaurant, a store, and bikes

English is spoken here but it's a friendly place to stay, with proper beds and showers.

NT$1780/2180) This family-run guesthouse has been a favourite with travellers for years.
Rooms come in a standard Western design and the lobby cafe has an outdoor deck. Cus-
tomised meals, using ingredients grown in the host's own farm, can be served if you ask
ahead of time. It's at the end of Minsheng Rd on the right.
Full House Resort Hotel B&B $$$

3200) This B&B is set in a two-storey wooden house behind a small garden in Itashao.
The owner is a painter; his works adorn the lobby and rooms. All rooms are large, with
all-wood interiors, solid wood furniture and antique decorations, and each enjoys a
private balcony.
Eating
The general breakdown for eating is Shueishe for Chinese food and Itashao for aborigin-
al. If you are on a budget there's a 7-Eleven in Shueishe for noodles and sandwiches, and
