the Hakka Blue, a wonderful ceramic studio, to get a look at how these very long and
narrow buildings were constructed to facilitate air flow and natural lighting. If you arrive
late, enter from the back alley.
Taipei Brewery BREWERY

first brewery, this landmark building has gone through many names, beginning with
Takasago Brewery. At the back of the brewery is the large warehouse 346 that serves
nightly as a rowdy beer hall, with cheap mugs of draft, quick-fry dishes and frequent live
entertainment.
Lao Pai Gongyuan Hao TRADITIONAL DRINKS

from 2-28 Park in an old Japanese-era corner shop is this decades-old place selling a re-

Mayor's Residence Art Salon CAFE

Shandao Temple) Built in 1940, this is one of the best preserved large Japanse-style resid-
ences in Taiwan. With its heritage styling, great natural lighting and park-like setting, it's
a superb place for a coffee, tea or light meal. Frequent art exhibits are held here.
