Tourist Information
Colter Bay Visitor Center ( 307-739-3594; 8am-5pm early May-mid-May & Sep-
early Oct, 8am-7pm Jun-early Sep) On US 89/191/287, 6 miles north of Jackson Lake
Lodge. Issues backcountry permits and offers crafts demonstrations and tours of its Indian
Arts Museum ( Click here ) . Newcomers can get their bearings at 'Teton Highlights,' a
daily 30-minute ranger talk at 11am at the auditorium.
Craig Thomas Discovery & Visitor Center ( 307-739-3300; 8am-5pm year-
round, 8am-7pm peak summer season, closed Christmas Day) Inaugurated in 2007, this
$21-million center on Teton Park Rd, half a mile west of Moose Junction, is open year-
round. Backcountry, climbing and boating permits are available here, as is information on
weather, road and avalanche conditions. Excellent interactive displays include working
models that demonstrate glacial movement and animal migration. An auditorium hosts
speakers and events.
Flagg Ranch Information Station ( 307-543-2327; 9am-4pm Jun-early Sep,
closed for lunch) Provides park information, rest rooms and a small bookstore. Located
2.5 miles from Yellowstone's South Entrance.
Grand Teton National Park Headquarters ( 307-739-3600; www.nps.gov/grte )
Shares the building with the Craig Thomas Discovery & Visitor Center. For general visit-

Jenny Lake Visitor Center ( 307-739-3343; 8am-4:30pm Sep-May, 8am-7pm
Jun-Aug) On Teton Park Rd, 8 miles north of Moose Junction. Facilities include a store,
lockers, geology exhibits, a relief model, rest rooms and telephones. With indepth inform-
ation on backpacking and trails, it's also the meeting place for guided walks and talks,
with activity schedules posted.
