T-slot cutter
A T-slot cutter is designed to cut T-slots. It has staggered teeth and it will
cut on the diameter, the top and the bottom. Before using a T-slot cutter, you
should cut the basic slot to the required width and depth, then cut the T part
of the slot with the cutter.
Woodruff cutter
A Woodruff cutter is used to cut a semi-circular slot in a shaft to take a semi-
circular Woodruff key. The Woodruff cutter only cuts on its outside diameter.
Dovetail cutter
A dovetail cutter is used to cut dovetails, most often in cast iron for machine
tool slides. You can get dovetail cutters in both 45-degree and 60-degree ver-
sions. You can also get reverse dovetail cutters that will cut an inverted dove-
tail.
