Carpenter/Cabinetry Technician

Minimum Education Same as for Level II technician

Minimum General
All skills required of Level II technician.
Skill Set
Capable of performance of basic preventative
maintenance procedures within one or more craft areas
with no supervision.
Capable of performing inspection, analysis, and
evaluation of facility components within one or more
craft areas.
Capable of directing and supervising Level I and II
technicians.

Craft Skill Set
Capable of Maintaining buildings and related structures
applying carpentry techniques and using carpentry tools
to construct, alter, repair and/or install walls, stairs,
floors, ceilings, windows, doors and door hardware,
handicapped chair rails and ramps, shelving, etc.
Inspect buildings needing carpentry repair of alterations
and estimate job duration and the cost and/or quantities
of labor and materials needed to complete the job.
Interpret and/or draw up sketches, patterns, blueprints,
instructions and/or layouts of work to be done.
Perform structural repair, alteration or improvement
work such as lowering ceilings and paneling rooms;
preparing surfaces for plaster or cement work; studding,
wiring, and plastering walls and cracks in floors or
around windows; taping joints on GWB; and piece-
matching and/or replacing countertops.

Minimum 6 or more years working in construction or building
Experience maintenance.
