4. Assists in developing and implementing goals, objectives,
procedures and work standards for specific craft areas
and provides input into the maintenance budgets.
5. Troubleshoots problems and provides technical assistance
to staff in solving maintenance and repair problems.
6. Requisitions materials, parts, tools and equipment needed
for work assignments; orders and picks up materials and
supplies from outside vendors as appropriate; prepares
cost estimates for jobs.
7. Prepares, issues, prioritizes and/or monitors work orders.
8. Inspects repair and maintenance work in progress and
upon completion to ensure that work complies with
applicable codes and regulations.
9. Ensures that staff follows safety procedures and uses
appropriate safety equipment.

Specific Skills Have knowledge of:
Required • craft area technical issues and maintenance procedures
• personnel management and supervisory practices
• occupational hazards and safety precautions of the
building maintenance trade
• building and safety codes

Minimum 5+ years experience as Technician Level III, two years of
Experience which must have been in a supervisory capacity as foreman
or lead technician.

General Facility Technician Level I
Entry or “apprentice” level maintenance worker who performs only
under the direct and continuous supervision of a higher level technician.
Minimum Education High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Desirable Education 2-year Associate Degree, completion of apprentice
program, or military training in a specific maintenance
craft area.
