1830 home once belonged to JAD McCurdy, who worked with Alexander Graham Bell
on early aircraft designs. The rooms in the inn are full of character, have bay views and
are decorated with subtle prints and lots of flair. Modern self-contained cottages are set
in the woods and are great for families.
Only the B&B rooms include breakfast.
Mother Gaelic's B&B $$$

patronized by Alexander Graham Bell, this sweet cottage opposite the waterfront has the
feel of an uncluttered summer home.
Lynwood Inn INN $$$

ous inn go far beyond the hotel standard, with Victorian wooden beds, muted color
schemes and airy, spacious living spaces. There's a family-style restaurant downstairs
that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner; breakfast is not included in room rates.
Highwheeler Cafe & Deli CAFE $
(486 Chebucto St; sandwiches $9; 6am-8pm) This place bakes great bread and goodies
(some gluten-free), and makes big tasty sandwiches (including vegetarian), quesadillas,
soups and more. Finish off on the sunny deck licking an ice-cream cone. Box lunches for
hikers are also available.
Baddeck Lobster Suppers SEAFOOD $$$

( 902-925-3307; 17 Ross St; dinners $33; 4-9pm Jun-Oct) In the former legion hall, this
high production, arguably high-priced institution gets live lobsters in the pot then to you
lickety-split. Meals come with just about everything and, although not spectacularly pre-
pared, could fuel you for days.
