In-Depth Information
LITTLE FIVE POINTS & EAST ATLANTA
While much of Atlanta keeps getting ever more hipster and hipsterer, Little Five
Points (L5P) has always been Atlanta's bohemian home, though it is becoming
more gentrified and touristy by the year. The epicenter is a three-way intersection
with a mini plaza where drifters and hippies congregate and strum broke-down gui-
tars and panhandle for smokes. As L5P becomes increasingly yuppified, East At-
lanta has emerged as the new hot spot where the hip, gay and ghetto chic con-
verge, conflict and party.
Both are dominated by a main drag - Euclid Ave in L5P and Flat Shoals Ave in
East Atlanta - and anchored by popular music venues, Variety Playhouse ( Click
here ) and the EARL ( Click here ), respectively.
Virginia-Highland
Leafy and bucolic, families enjoy the historic homes and quiet streets off North Highland
Ave. The main focal point of the area is the triangular Virginia-Highland intersection-
turned-commercial district, chockablock with restaurants cafes and boutiques - corpor-
ate and indie.
