basic hotel is tarted up with all things Elvis. Ramp up the already-palpable kitsch with
one of the themed suites, such as the red-velvet Burnin' Love room.

guitar-shaped pool, gold records and Elvis memorabilia in the lobby and neon Cadillacs
on the roof, the Days Inn manages to out-Elvis the neighboring Heartbreak Hotel. Guest
rooms themselves are clean but nothing special. You'll need wheels or to depend upon
the shuttle to get Downtown.
Eating
Locals come to blows over which of the city's chopped-pork sandwiches or dry-rubbed
ribs are the best. Barbecue joints are scattered across the city; the ugliest exteriors often
yield the tastiest goods. Hip young locals head to the South Main Arts District or
Midtown's Cooper-Young neighborhood, a hip bloom of tasty restaurants and bars.
