Getting There & Around
AIR
The Minneapolis-St Paul International Airport (MSP; www.mspairport.com ) is between the
two cities to the south. It's the home of Delta Airlines, which operates several direct
flights to/from Europe.
The Blue Line light-rail service (regular/rush-hour fare $1.75/2.25, 25 minutes) is the
cheapest way into Minneapolis. Bus 54 (regular/rush-hour fare $1.75/2.25, 25 minutes)
goes to St Paul. Taxis cost around $45.
BICYCLE
Minneapolis hovers near the top of rankings for best bike city in the US. The bicycle-
share program Nice Ride ( www.niceridemn.org ; Apr-Oct) has 1500 bikes in 170 self-
serve kiosks around the Twin Cities. Users pay a subscription (per day/year $6/65) online
or at the kiosk, plus a small fee per half-hour of use (with the first half-hour free). Bikes
can be returned to any kiosk. Traditional rentals work better if you're riding for recre-
ation versus transportation purposes. See the Minneapolis Bicycle Program
( www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/bicycles ) for rental shops and trail maps.
