Mt Adams
It might be a bit of a stretch to compare Mt Adams, immediately east of downtown, to
Paris' Montmartre, but this hilly 19th-century enclave of narrow, twisting streets, Victori-
an town houses, galleries, bars and restaurants is certainly a pleasurable surprise. Most
visitors ascend for a quick look around and a drink.
To get here, follow 7th St east of downtown to Gilbert Ave, bear northwest to Elsinore
Ave, and head up the hill to reach the lakes, paths and cultural offerings in Eden Park.
The yard at nearby Immacula Church (30 Guido St) is worth a stop for its killer views
over the city.
