of a relatively large size are to be generated away from the reflex edges. The refined mesh
consists of 7720 node points and 35,843 elements, as shown in Figure 8.85. The quality
of the refined mesh is much better than that of the initial mesh with the mean γ-coefficient
increased from 0.384 to 0.721.
The fifth example is the refinement of the same cube divided into six tetrahedra over
a spherical surface, which is larger than the cube. The entire refined mesh, which is a bit
unclear with so many edges, is shown in Figure 8.86, and rings of refinement on the bound-
ary surface are shown in Figure 8.87. The largest elements are of size about 2 units, whereas
