Chapter 4
Media
There is a lot of debate over the use of media in school. On one occasion, a court was
actually appealed to for the question of whether a textbook had to be used in class or not:
“The conflict lasted 8 years already. The teacher addressed a petition to the state parlia-
ment and demanded to not waste money on useless topics, but to provide the money for
experiments. His colleagues disagreed with this claim: “The chemistry teacher tried to
impose his ideas without regard for his colleagues and students. Students would not be able
to look up something they learned in class and would have difficulties with a new teacher.”
The teacher, who actually went to the Federal Court of Justice, had to commit to using text
books and to record this in class topics after his lectures.” [ 1 ]
