From the hilarious and ridiculous to the deep and experimental, there's always something
interesting in NMAI's changing exhibits. Don't expect to see works by the hitmakers or
TV directors of tomorrow, though. The institute is specifically about video as art. Works
are displayed in a warren of canal-house rooms. Prepare to have your mind expanded at
every turn. ( www.nimk.nl ; Keizersgracht 264; adult/student €4.50/2.50;

Don't blink or you might walk right past this unobtrusive outpost, a 'project space' of the
Stedelijk Museum. Exhibits here - from painting and sculpture to new media and installa-
tion pieces - present contemporary artists whose work reflects Amsterdam culture. Shows
change about every two weeks; ring to make sure it's not closed while exhibitions are be-
ing changed. (

MUSEUM
Not just a museum of Bibles, this canal-house trove is more like a museum about the
Bible's importance in 19th-century culture. It contains musty mummies, hand-carved
models of the Tabernacle and the Temple in Jerusalem, as well as several antique Bibles
(check out the 1477 Delft edition). Near the pretty garden, there's also a display of biblical
smells (nicer than it sounds). (Bible Museum; www.bijbelsmuseum.nl ; Herengracht 366-368; adult/child €8/4;
