The Summer Palace & Haidian
The glorious Summer Palace ( 颐和园 ) may be its principal sight, but there's far
more to Haidian ( 海淀 ), which sprawls across west and northwest Beijing, than
just old imperial digs. The district is home to the capital's biggest parks, while
the hip student neighbourhood of Wudaokou ( 五道口 ) makes for a very lively
contrast with the temples and museums you'll also find here.
