Tianqiao Acrobatics Theatre

, this 100-year-old theatre offers one of
Beijing's best acrobatic displays, a one-hour show performed by the Beijing Acrobatic
Troupe. It's less touristy than the other venues, and the high-wire display here is thrilling.
The entrance is down the eastern side of the building.

Huguang Guild Hall
With its magnificent red, green and gold interior, the historic Huguang (built in 1807) is a
great place to experience your first Peking opera. There's a small
opera museum

East Shore Jazz Café
This chilled venue is the place to hear the best local jazz bands. There are live perform-
ances from Wednesday to Sunday (from 10pm), in a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere.
There's a small roof terrace open in summer with a nice view of Houhai (

cover charge, but it's worth booking a table here on weekends when it gets busy.
