In-Depth Information
For an unusual pick-me-up, head down the streets southwest of the mosque to find Vefa Bozacısı ( Click here ) ,
which has been dispensing boza , a drink made with fermented barley, since 1875.
The courtyard of Lale Bahçesi ( Click here ) is a relaxing spot to enjoy a tea and nargile.
Tiryaki Çarşısı
The street facing the mosque's main entrance is now called Prof Sıddık Sami Onar Cad-
desi, but was formerly known as the Tiryaki Çarşısı (Market of the Addicts) as it was
home to tea houses selling opium. These now house popular fasülye (bean) restaurants in-
cluding Kuru Fasülyeci Erzincanlı Ali Baba ( Click here ) .
