House of Glunz Not only is this Chicago's oldest wine shop, but it's also
the oldest in the Midwest, with an inventory of 1,500 wines dating back to
1811. The shop periodically cracks open a few of its vintage wines for special
wine-tasting events, but not all the selections here are rare or expensive. There's
a stock of modern wines from California and Europe, and the knowledgeable

Sam's Wines & Spirits Believe it or not, this football-field-size warehouse
store evolved from a modest packaged-goods store. Today the family-owned
operation is the best-stocked wine and spirits merchant in the city and offers
pleasant, friendly service. It also features a superb cheese selection in the on-site
