You are required to supply the following information:
• SYSMAN password : The SYSMAN account is the Enterprise Manager super-user. Whoever has
control over it has complete control over the whole Enterprise Manager configuration. The
SYSMAN password therefore is very sensitive and should not be given out to regular users. Just
like the UNIX root account, only qualified and properly trained staff should have the SYSMAN
password. Ideally the use of the SYSMAN account is restricted to the initial configuration. For
the reasons just outlined the password must be sufficiently complex.
• Registration password : In order for agents to initially establish communication with the
Oracle Management Service agents need a password. This password is called the registration
password which you need to enter here.
• Tablespace locations : The Oracle Universal Installer will create three tablespaces in the
repository database. Their location can be defined in the last three input fields. Choose
appropriate locations and click on “Next” to specify the port ranges in step 11, shown in
Figure 8-12 .
