This leafy square is home to the
State Hospital of Cardiology
(Országos Szívkórház;
counter the
Kossuth Pump House
(1853), a natural spring that dispenses slightly sulphuric,
but drinkable, thermal water. If you can ignore the water's pale-yellow hue, join the locals
lining up to fill their water bottles. On the northern side of the square is the
Balaton Pan-
theon
, with memorial plaques from those who took the cure here.

The Jókai Memorial Museum is housed in the summer villa of the prolific writer Mór Jókai,
just north of Vitorlás tér. In his study here, Jókai churned out many of his 200 novels under
the stern gaze of his wife, actress Róza Laborfalvi. The museum is filled with family mem-
orabilia and period furniture.
CHURCH
ROUND CHURCH
Inspired by the Pantheon in Rome, the tiny neoclassical Round Church was completed in
1846. The
Crucifixion
(1891) by János Vaszary sits above the altar on the western wall.

This beautifully restored villa (1892), once the residence of the Vaszarys, exhibits some
works of the best-known family member, the painter János Vaszary, as well as a wonderful
collection of arts and crafts from the 18th century.
