Select your type and cooking method at the glass counter, choose a side, and then sit back
and wait for super-fresh fish and shellfish to be delivered to your table. This simply decor-
ated restaurant has plenty of tables inside, as well as along busy Andrássy út. And there are
bibs for you messy eaters. Pasta and rice dishes also available.

CIRCUS
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ; 1-413 6764; www.facebook.com/circusbarbp ; VI Liszt Ferenc tér 11; mains

One of the more interesting choices on Liszt Ferenc tér, colourful Circus, decorated appro-
priately with big game, serves traditional Hungarian dishes with some international touches.
It also serves cocktails and coffee and is a fun option on the sunny side of this square.
INTERNATIONAL
KLASSZ
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ; www.klasszetterem.hu ; VI Andrássy út 41; mains 1890-5490Ft;
11.30am-11pm; ; M1 Oktogon)
Owned by the local wine society, Klassz is mostly about wine - Hungarian, to be precise -
and here you can order by the 10cL measure from an ever-changing list of up to four dozen
wines to sip and compare. The food is of a very high standard. Reservations are not accep-
ted; just show up and wait.
Permanent fixtures on the menu include foie gras in its various avatars and native
mangalica (a breed of pig) pork, and there are also more unusual (and fleeting) dishes like
blanquette de veau (veal stew) and lamb and vegetable ragout.
