In-Depth Information
restaurant 3600-15,200Ft; noon-11pm Mon-Sat; ; M2 Astoria)
Elegant Fausto's offers a top-class dining room and a cheaper osteria just around the corner
from the Great Synagogue. It does brilliant pasta dishes, daily specials and desserts. There's
also a well-chosen selection of Italian and Hungarian wine. Two-course lunches in the oster-
ia (2900Ft) or three-course in the restaurant (5000Ft) are a better-value way to dine here.

BURGERS
RING CAFE
10am-midnight Mon-Sat, to 10pm Sun; ; M1 Oktogon)
Excellent burgers, with lots of different varieties, in this small, modern joint that also does
snacks, salads, sandwiches, and breakfast till 1pm.
HUNGARIAN
MENZA
2390-4690Ft; ; M1 Oktogon)
This stylish restaurant on one of Budapest's more lively squares takes its name from the
Hungarian for a drab school canteen - something it is anything but. It's always packed with
diners, who come for its simple but well-prepared Hungarian classics with a modern twist,
in trendy, mid-century-styled dining rooms. Weekday two-course set lunches are 1090Ft; re-
servations recommended.
