WINE BAR
BLOODIES
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ; 52 av de la République, 11e; St-Maur)
Despite its somewhat unappealing name in English, Bloodies is a cavernous and airy space
with high ceiling, huge street-facing windows and large pavement terrace. Its backside
peeps out on a green-filled courtyard, and a meaty menu complements the extensive wine
list.
CLUB
SCREAM CLUB
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ; www.scream-paris.com ; 18 rue du Faubourg du Temple, 11e; admission €15;
midnight-7am Sat; Belleville or Goncourt)
What started out as a summer party is now a permanent fixture on the city's gay scene (mar-
keted as Paris' biggest gay party). The Saturday-night soirée gay brings clubbers together
on two dance floors - one dedicated to pop, the other to sets by an international DJ - and an
ooh la la! espace cruising .
LOCAL KNOWLEDGE
AT DUSK
As the bewitching hour for that all-essential early evening apérobeckons, there is no
lovelier city square in which to sit beneath fairy lights and lap up local life than pedes-
trian pla
é Ste--Cattheriine, 4e (metro St-Paul). Clad with benches and
trees, it is framed on three sides by atmospheric cafe pavement terraces - perfect for
a simple pression(glass of draft beer) or kir (white wine and cassis) at dusk.
