GAY BAR
QUETZAL
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ; 10 rue de la Verrerie, 4e; 5pm-2am; Hôtel de Ville)
This perennial favourite gay bar is opposite rue des Mauvais Garçons (Bad Boys' Street), a
road named after the brigands who congregated here in 1540. It's always busy, with house
and dance music playing at night, and cruisy at all hours; plate-glass windows allow you to
check out the talent before it arrives.
GAY BAR
3W KAFÉ
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ; 8 rue des Écouffes, 4e;
8pm-3am Wed & Thu, to 5.30am Fri & Sat;
St-
Paul)
The name of this flagship cocktail bar-pub on a street with several lesbian bars means 'wo-
men with women'. It's relaxed and there's no ban on men (they must be accompanied by a
woman). On weekends there's dancing downstairs with a DJ and themed evenings take
place regularly. Check its Facebook page for events.
BAR, GAY
LES JACASSES
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ; 5 rue des Écouffes, 4e; 5pm-2am Wed-Sun; St-Paul)
Girls will love this sister bar to 3W - it looks like it's been transplanted directly from Nor-
mandy. It has softer music, hard-core evenings and a happy 'hour' that happily lasts for four
(from 5pm).
CLUB
LE TANGO
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ; www.boiteafrissons.fr ; 13 rue au Maire, 3e; admission €6-9;
10.30pm-5am
Fri & Sat, 6-11pm Sun; Arts et Métiers)
Billing itself as a boîte à frissons (club of thrills), Le Tango hosts a mixed and cosmopolit-
an, gay and lesbian crowd in a historic 1930s dancehall. Its atmosphere and style is retro and
festive, with waltzing, salsa and tango getting going from the moment it opens. From about
12.30am onwards DJs play. Sunday's gay tea dance is legendary.
