You need to know about this terribly cool taqueria (taco shop) to find it. Made of pure,
unadulterated hipness in that brazenly nonchalant manner Paris does so well, clandestine
Candelaria serves delicious homemade tacos, quesadillas and tostadas in a laid-back setting
- squat at the bar in the front or lounge out back around a shared table with bar stools or at
low coffee tables.
Come dark, the party kicks off with occasional DJ sets, tastings, post-gallery drinks and
some of the best cocktails in town. Regulars swear by the Bloody Mary and cocktail-fuelled
weekend brunches.
MARKET
MARCHÉ AUX ENFANTS ROUGES

8.30am-2pm Sun; Filles du Calvaire)
Built in 1615, Paris' oldest covered market is secreted behind an inconspicuous green metal
gate - and for good reason. A glorious maze of 20-odd food stalls selling ready-to-eat dishes
from around the globe, it is a great place to come for a meander and munch with locals.
Grab a Moroccan couscous or Caribbean platter and consume at communal tables.

The creation of Jeanne and James, this contemporary cafe is irresistible. From the crates of
fruit and veg in the window to a menu that spells out the artisanal origin of the bread, ba-
gels, pastrami, elderflower lemonade and so forth, Paperboy venerates local seasonal pro-
duce. Creative sandwiches come with a giant salad, and three types of brunch pack out the
place on weekends.

An address that packs a punch in the Haut Marais, this hip industrial space with large street-
facing windows and concrete floor is uber-cool, ultra-healthy and brilliant value. Pick from
creative salads, soups and bento boxes - always one meat, one fish and one veggie option -
