What began as a waffle cafe and vintage shop has turned into a small emporium of indie

ic mix of reasonably priced accessories, music and clothing for him and her from its own
collection and a number of other hand-picked labels.

TRIPPEN FLAGSHIP STORE
Rosenthaler Strasse 40/41; 11am-8pm Mon-Fri, 10am-8pm Sat; M1, Hackescher Markt)
Forget about 10cm heels! Berlin-based Trippen's shoes are designed with the human ana-
tomy in mind, yet are light years ahead in style compared to the loafers grandma used to buy
in the orthopaedic store. The award-winning brand prides itself on its 'socially responsible'
manufacturing and love of unusual shapes. The stores themselves are gorgeous.

With an outfit from Umasan you can look good knowing that no sheep had to surrender its
wool for your dress, skirt or top. Although Germany's first vegan label uses only plant-based
materials, the look is hardly hippie, but decidedly high fashion, relying on asymmetric cuts,
subtle prints and muted colours.
