Airport-City Links: Malpensa Airport Bus service connects Malpensa Airport
with Linate Airport (travel time of 1 hour 10 minutes) and Malpensa Airport with
the Central Station (travel time of 50 minutes; fare: €10). Malpensa Express train
service to the city departs every 30 minutes; journey time is 40 minutes. Fare: €12
one-way, €18 open return; office in Terminal 1.
A deluxe bus service [Air Pullman, Tel: (02) 58583202] runs every 10 minutes
between Linate Airport and the Central Station from 0600 to 2300. Fare: €8.00.

Bus, limousine, and taxi services are available at both air terminals. The taxi ser-
vices are quite expensive, averaging about €65-€75 from Malpensa but only about
€15 from Linate.
Arriving by Train
Milan has seven railway stations, but luckily, readers need be concerned with only
one, the Milan Central Station (MilanoCentrale). Milan's Central Station is enorm-
ous.
Money exchange offices can be reached by going through the archway leading
off binari (tracks) Nos. 10 to 15. Once through the archway and into the main
hall of the station, you will see three Maccorp Italiana stands. Hours:
0730-2200 daily. Avoid the so-called money changers who frequent this area.
Like the gypsies in the Paris Métro, their main purpose is to relieve you of your
money. The gypsies do it by picking your pocket; the “money changers” are
much more gentle in their approach—they just shortchange you. You will find
the best rates at the official exchange offices.
Tourist information (A.P.T.) is located on the platform (first) floor near the “Gran
Bar” in the main hall. Maps and tour information are available. This office is not
equipped to assist in locating hotel accommodations, but you can get directions
to the central tourist office at Piazza del Duomo. Hours: 0900-1800
Monday-Friday and 0900-1300 and 1400-1700 Saturday- Sunday. Tel: (02)
77404318. A hallway on the left side of the tourist office will lead you to a public
telephone.
Train information office is marked with a black “i” sign, located at the extreme
