Nice boasts more than 200 hotels and 1,000 restaurants. Most of these facilities
are located in the modern section of Nice, west of the Paillon River, which divides
the town in two.
The Riviera is noted for its spectacular scenery. Every proper ingredient of sea,
shore, cliffs, and mountains is present. Grapes and flowers are the predominant
crops of its highly cultivated farmlands. It is one of the great flower-growing areas
of Europe and probably the most famous center in the world for perfume produc-
tion.
