Figure 11.7 shows the composition of China's agricultural exports by
factor ntensty of producton. It can be seen that Chna's agrcultural
exports are overwhelmngly domnated by exports of labour-ntensve
products and that ths domnaton has ncreased snce 2001.
Figure 11.8 shows that China's agricultural imports are biased towards
land-intensive products, accounting for 60.6 per cent and 65 per cent of
China's total agricultural imports during the two periods of 1992-2001 and
2002-05, respectively.
Since its accession into the WTO, China's agricultural trade has been
movng n lne wth ts comparatve advantage and s now more consstent
wth ts resource endowments of relatve scarcty of land resources and
relatve abundance of labour.
