In-Depth Information
Inside a converted Craftsman house, with cathedral ceiling and gorgeous woodwork,
Goose & Gander has a clubby vibe conducive to drinking, excellent craft cocktails, and an
imaginative (sometimes heavy) menu with some standouts, like the summertime-only
shrimp-and-watermelon salad. Consider the garden. Boozy locals favor the basement pub.
Farmstead

; 738 Main St; mains $16-27;
11:30am-9pm)
An enormous open-truss barn with big leather booths and rocking-chair porch, Farmstead
draws a youthful crowd and grows many of its own ingredients - including grass-fed beef
- for an earthy menu highlighting wood-fired cooking.
Market
NEW AMERICAN
707-963-3799;

;
1347 Main St; mains $18-27;
11:30am-9pm)
We love Market's big portions of simple, fresh American cooking, including hearty salads
of local produce, and soul-satisfying mains like buttermilk fried chicken. The stone-walled
dining room dates to the 19th century, as does the ornate backbar, where cocktails get
muddled to order. Free corkage.
Shopping
Main St is lined with high-end boutiques (think $100 socks), but some mom-and-pop
shops remain.
Woodhouse Chocolates
FOOD
Woodhouse looks more like Tiffany than a candy shop, with housemade chocolates simil-
arly priced, but their quality is beyond reproach.
