If you couldn't score reservations at French Laundry , fear not: Meadowood - the valley's
only other Michelin-three-star restaurant - has a slightly more sensibly priced menu, eleg-
antly unfussy dining room, and lavish haute cuisine that's not too esoteric. Auberge has
better views, but Meadowood's food and service far surpass it.
