Timur's nephew, Omar Sheikh, becomes the independent leader
of Fergana. He makes Akhsikand his center. On his son's, Ba-
bur's, accession to the sultanate, he moves the center to Andijan.
Defeated in the battle against the Shaybanidds, he loses Fergana.

The Akkoyunlu (White Sheep) Turks defeat the Black Sheep
Turks in Persia.

An internal feud results in the death of Abu al-Khayr, leader of
the Uzbeks, in battle and the splitting off of the Kazaks from the
Uzbeks.

Sultan Ahmed moves the Timurid center back to Samarkand.

Sultan Hussein Bayqara announces independence at Kherat. He
takes over Khurasan and Khwarezm.
