Vaccinations
Before travelling to Cambodia, we were advised by international clinics and multiple web-
sites to get every inoculation under the sun. Much of the advice was precautionary and ten-
ded to err on the side of caution or fear, so we opted not to get them all but to protect
ourselves from those diseases which were most prevalent and would make the biggest dif-
ference in our lives.
The ones we chose were hepatitis, typhoid, rabies, and Japanese encephalitis. We opted not
to get malaria meds and have never heard of anyone getting the disease, even when travel-
ling to outermost provinces, but it may be worth bringing along a supply if you think you'll
be spending time in rural areas, particularly during rainy season.
