If, like us, you run out of time to get all your shots, you can complete them when you're in

One of the more common diseases in this region is dengue fever, which, unfortunately,
has no preventative vaccine. It demonstrates many of the same symptoms as malaria and
can easily be diagnosed by any good clinic in Cambodia. It is very unpleasant and may
provide several weeks of discomfort and exhaustion and all that can be prescribed is bed
rest, Paracetamol, plenty of liquids and regular blood monitoring.
And, of course, there's a pretty good chance of getting a gastric bug from contaminated
food or water since hygiene is not up to western standards. When that happens, the local
clinic will diagnose it, treat it, and prescribe the appropriate medications.
