wave length 254 nm for 30 hours the degree of radiation damage in initial samples was only
12% while in those containing additive HC-1 it was 46%.
Thus, investigation of initial and stabilized PETP samples shows that additive HC-2
effectively stabilizes PETP at ultra-violet irradiation by the light with wave length 254 nm
and 313 nm, and additive HC-1 acts as sensibilizer, speeding the process of PETP
photodestruction at these wave lengths.
Effect of stabilization by hexaazocyclanes proved to be efficient at simultaneous action of
both mechanical load and ultra-violet light. Dependence of durability of initial and dyed
PETP samples on the value of load (Figure 3.22) at photomechanical destruction shows that
durability of stabilized sample is 1,3 times higher than in initial one.
Figure 3.21. Dependence of breaking strength of initial and stabilized PETP - fibres on the irradiation
time: a) - λ=254 nm, b) - λ=313 nm, 1 - initial PETP; 2 - PETP + 1% HC-2; 3 - PETP + 1% HC-1.
