For example, suppose you have a number of applications that all use your dedicated database server.
Those applications serve ordering, reporting, and HR functions, listed in the order of importance to
the company, from the most important to the least important. Suppose you have eight processors on
your database server. Ideally, you'd like to have the reporting and HR application defer to the ordering
application, so that the mission critical application always receives the highest priority.
You can create three separate end points for this purpose. One end point is just for ordering application
connections, where you assign five processors to it. You can then create another end point, which you
assign two processors to. And finally, for the HR application, you will have an end point, which will only
have one processor to use.
