Beaches
Northeast of Gävle, the beaches at Engeltofta or Engesberg are also within easy striking
distance without your own transport; catch bus #95 from the Rådhus. From
Engesberg, the bus continues to Bönan , where an old lighthouse marks a good spot for
swimming. Other enjoyable beaches are on the island of Limön , connected by a
summer ferry, MS Drottning Silvia (up to 3 daily; 40min; 40kr; W gavle.se/limobaten),
from Södra Skeppsbron, behind the Resecentrum, calling at Engeltofta on the way, if
required.
