Disease Management:
If a chicken gets sick, they should be isolated from the flock as soon as possible. New birds
should be quarantined before being introduced to the old flock. If you have taken birds to
the exhibition areas, you should check them for external parasites and hold them for a few
days to ensure they have not picked up any infections. For severe diseases the vet should be
called as soon as possible. Some diseases will also require you to slaughter sick birds.
