Aside from keeping the coop clean, the chickens should be kept as stress free as possible.
Some flock owners put herbs in the nesting boxes. You should always give the chickens ad-
equate room. Each standard bird needs about 4 feet square. The best way to keep chickens
happy is to build a run or let them out to forage in a safe place. Always check for signs of ill
health or external parasites. Covering their run to stop wild birds from entering can prevent
some diseases.
